I went to Saalugudda with one camera body, two lenses, and a mental plan of shooting hills and maybe a decent sunset. I came back with a memory card full of everything except that.

Karnataka's Western Ghats have a habit of hiding their best parts, and Sakleshpur might be the best kept of them all. It's a coffee town that never really got the memo about being a flashy tourist destination, so it just carried on being itself, quiet, a little sleepy, in on its own beauty without ever needing to announce it. Tourists from around the world are slowly discovering what a small town tucked away in the Western Ghats actually feels like, and it's about as far from the bustling metro rush or the Goa party scene as you can get.
